Water is not a premium product. It is a necessity for life. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to clean, safe drinking water out of a tap.
We do not believe that "premium water" needs to be shipped from Italy or France or Fiji, or that they are any better than clean tap water - in fact most bottled water in the USA, is just regular tap water, put in plastic bottles and sold at high profit margins, and contributing unnecessarily to global emissions and plastic pollution, ironically, much of that plastic washing up on beautiful Thai beaches.
As a Social Entrepreneur, we strive to improve and disrupt inefficient or unsustainable business models, and provide solutions that solve real world problems - the problem being that many developing and third world countries have limited access to clean, safe tap water, or expensive filtration systems, and have to rely on bottled water to drink...bottled water that is often bottled and transported thousands of miles.
We aim to prove that a"source local water" model is more efficient, cost effective and sustainable than a "global" water industry. We will start with Chiang Mai Thailand - Thailand's second largest city and historically the capital of the independent Lanna Kingdom, and hope to prove this model and help other Social Entrepreneurs replicate the model across Thailand, and the world.
What better name for our water, than "Lanna Water", as a nod to the historic past and the the word Lanna meaning "kingdom of a million rice fields".
All water has the same ingredient - H2O. What makes one water more "expensive" than another, is a factor of marketing, packaging, shipping and brand perception.
We believe that most regions of the world can source water locally, or regionally, use local workers to package and deliver that water, and consume it locally, without shipping long distances and contributing to carbon emissions and cost.
We also believe clean, safe water should be affordable. Our goal is to slowly increase volume, reduce cost as low as we can, minimize marketing and unnecessary expenses to make our local water the cheapest water available locally...and if we happen to make a small profit, use that profit to fund water purification systems, and bottled water for vulnerable communities.
Join us, and support local water, for a better world.
At Lanna Water, we pride ourselves on providing the purest and most refreshing bottled water at an affordable price. Our water is sourced from natural springs and goes through a rigorous filtration process to ensure that it is of the highest quality.
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting local communities by sourcing, bottling and supplying water locally, and ensuring our bottles are fully recyclable, to reduce environmental impact.
Our ozonated bottled water is off the highest quality, having surpassed all the required health and safety regulations to provide our Customers in Northern Thailand with clean, safe and healthy drinking water.
Lanna Water has undergone an ozone-based treatment process to purify and sterilize the water. Ozone water is sterilized naturally, using a process that includes UV radiation to kill bacteria, and purify water.
We believe that water should be sourced, bottled and consumed locally, rather that shipped long distances and contributing to carbon emissions. Lanna Water is sourced and bottled and only available only in Northern Thailand.
We believe that clean, safe drinking water is a basic human right. Providing clean water at the lowest possible price is part of our mission. And if we happen to make a small profit, we will use that profit to provide free water to people who need it.
Are we to believe that a 750ml bottle of Berg water shipped all the way from Canada at USD$10 is really necessary in Thailand, where tap water is not even safe to drink - or 85 times the price of Lanna Water?
Or is shipping empty plastic bottles from China to Fiji, then shipping full bottles to Thailand and selling it for 23 times the price of Lanna Water? When 12% of Fijians don't have access to clean drinking water...and Fiji Water pay zero tax, and is not even owned by a Fijian.
And that 800ml of VOS still water is worth 54 times the price of Lanna Water. I guess they gets points for the pretty glass bottle.
If you have access to clean tap water, please do not buy plastic bottled water, unless you need to.
